AUTISM ASSESSMENTS

autism assessments

A clearer picture of your child’s world and how to help them thrive.

ARE YOU...

✔︎ Wondering if your child is autistic?

✔︎ Curious to learn more about your child’s unique strengths and needs?

You want to understand your child better and know how to support them.

We are highly trained in assessing and working with autistic youth, even those who may be very good at masking or camouflaging.

We help you uncover the “why” behind certain behaviours and discover strategies that fit your child’s needs.

We provide assessments to evaluate for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This involves using standardized tools and observations to assess your child’s social skills, communication skills, and behaviour patterns.

The purpose of the assessment is to help you and your child understand themself better and promote feelings of self-acceptance.

The goal is also for parents and teachers to feel better equipped to implement different strategies.

We recognize that an autism diagnosis can potentially be overwhelming for some families, and we provide a warm, compassionate, and supportive environment to guide you through the process.

How It Works

Autism assessments are a comprehensive evaluation of your child’s social communication skills and other behavioural differences.

An in-depth parent interview and standardized questionnaires are needed to learn about your child’s behaviour at home. With your consent, valuable information is gathered from your child’s teacher to learn about your child at school.

Depending on your child’s age, they may be asked to participate in a clinical interview, answer standardized questionnaires, and/or complete specific tasks. We are trained in a variety of assessment measures, including the ADOS-2 and MIGDAS-2, and tailor our approach depending on your child’s unique strengths and needs.

How can I prepare my child for an Autism assessment?

Let your child know that they will be asked some questions about themselves, including their strengths and challenges.

They may also be asked to complete some simple tasks in the session.
