Sylvia Riley

M.Sc., R.P.

Sylvia provides counselling services to kids and teens at Taylor Psychology. She is a Registered Psychotherapist who is passionate about helping young people feel understood, supported, and capable of growth. She has been working as a Registered Psychotherapist for over a decade and is also currently finishing her doctorate in counselling psychology at the University of Toronto / OISE.

Sylvia has worked alongside young people and their families to help them navigate the increasingly complex challenges of growing up, whether it’s the stress of school, the influence of social media, shifting friendships, or big emotions that feel hard to manage. Her practice is guided by an anti-oppressive lens, ensuring that every child’s voice, background, and unique story is honoured and respected. She uses a strength-based and collaborative approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed practices.

Sylvia’s focus is on building resilience, self-regulation, and confidence, while also supporting children and teens who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger, executive functioning challenges, and/or the effects of difficult life experiences. Above all, she believes that therapy is about uncovering strengths, creating meaningful change, and empowering both young people and their families.
